Clinical Trials

Head and Neck CT Imaging

Our group is deeply committed to bridging the gap between basic science discovery and patient care through robust engagement in clinical trials. We actively participate in the development and execution of studies spanning the full spectrum of clinical research, ranging from early-stage Phase I safety and dose-finding trials to complex Phase II and III pivotal studies aimed at establishing efficacy. Our team plays a crucial role in designing novel protocols and analyzing trial data, accelerating the translation of promising therapeutic concepts into tangible clinical outcomes.

Our group leverages advanced photon counting CT (PCCT) to improve diagnostic imaging capabilities. By directly measuring individual X-ray photons and their specific energy levels, PCCT surpasses traditional scanning methods. This technology provides unprecedented spatial resolution alongside significantly reduced image noise. It also enables sophisticated spectral material decomposition for highly precise tissue characterization. Ultimately, PCCT allows us to gain deeper insights into disease mechanisms.

Head and Neck MR Imaging

We use the complementary strengths of 3T and ultra-high field 7T MRI to provide diagnostic insights and a deep understanding of disease mechanisms. The 7T system provides unprecedented spatial resolution, unlocking details of microanatomy that remain invisible at lower field strengths.  We also use diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) and perfusion imaging to reveal subtle microstructural tissue changes. 

Imaging-guided Therapeutics 

We utilize CT and US imaging to perform real-time, image-guided interventions. This technology allows us to precisely localize and target lesions that are otherwise difficult to access. Our primary focus is enabling highly accurate tissue acquisition for definitive diagnostic purposes. Furthermore, we leverage these guidance systems for the direct, targeted delivery of novel therapeutic drugs.
